Nobuko Katsura

Haikus

Despertar
entre flores de cerezo;
mediodía blanco.

Primer día de primavera;
un viento del océano
sin océano a la vista.

Gansos salvajes;
entre sus graznidos,
un poco de silencio.

Más allá de la oscuridad
en que me desnudo,
un lirio en flor.

La incomodidad
de los pechos en mi blusa;
larga temporada de lluvias.

En la escalera
mi cuerpo bañado y vaporoso
esta noche de nieve.

Navidad;
esta tristeza de ser esposa
¿cuándo la sentí por vez primera?

Ramas deshojadas
buscan en el cielo
algo que tocar.

Haikus

wake up
in cherry blossom
white midday

the first day in spring –
a wind from the ocean
but no ocean in sight

wild geese –
between their cries, a slice
of silence

beyond the dark
where I disrobe
an iris in bloom

the nuisance
of breasts-
a long rainy season

on the scale
my bathed and steaming body
this night of snow

Christmas –
this sadness of being a wife
when did I first feel it?
